Today we’re introducing free trials! Starting with SuperSerrated, and extending to future plugin releases, you’ll now be able to try our plugins on your own terms before committing to a purchase.
This is something we’ve wanted to offer from the beginning. Audio plugins are incredibly personal tools, and no amount of screenshots, feature lists, or audio demos can tell you exactly how something is going to fit into your own music. Sometimes you just need to put a plugin on a track, turn some knobs, and see where it takes you.
With free trials, you can explore all of the features and capabilities of our plugins without any upfront cost. There are no intrusive ads, artificial feature limitations, intermittent sounds, or other interruptions designed to make the trial annoying enough that you’ll pay to make them go away. While the trial is active, you’re using the same plugin as everyone else. That way you can decide whether one of our tools belongs in your workflow, with less risk.
For now, free trials only apply to the desktop versions of our plugins. Our mobile versions are already very generously priced, and the App Store has its own considerations around purchasing and distribution, but we may reevaluate trial options there in the future.
How our free trials work
With SuperSerrated, you’ll get a 14-day trial. During which the plugin is fully functional, with no restrictions on its features or sound. Once the trial ends, you’ll need to purchase a license to continue using it. Or feel free to buy a license at any time during the trial.
Getting started is simple. Sign up and download the plugin from our website as usual. The first time you launch it, you’ll see a prompt asking whether you’d like to start a trial or activate a purchase.
Either option securely opens our website in your browser to complete the process. You won’t need to remember license keys, or type your account credentials into an awkward little login form inside the plugin. We don’t enforce any activation limits either (within reason, please don’t pirate or share your login credentials with the world).
Once you’re activated, you’re done. You can get back to making music.
We wanted the licensing system to stay out of the way as much as possible. Its job is to make it easy to try something, easy to buy it if you like it, and otherwise be something you rarely have to think about.
Why we’re doing this
Wavefold Labs is still a new plugin company, and we understand that there’s going to be some hesitation involved in buying a tool from a developer you haven’t seen before.
Our primary goal is to get these tools into your hands and let you actually use them. So try SuperSerrated on one of your own tracks. Find out whether it inspires the next great idea, or simply makes a sound you want to keep using. We’d much rather let the plugins speak for themselves.
If you keep it around, that’s awesome. If you don’t, that’s fine too.
Give it a try
So please, give SuperSerrated and our upcoming releases a try, and let us know what you think! Did they work out for you?
This trial system will also become part of our future desktop plugin releases, so you’ll be able to spend some real time with each new Wavefold Labs tool before making a decision.
We’re excited for you to try out our tools!
